Biography

Marta Charleton was born on Feb. 3, 1983 to Ford and Donna Charleton.  She was a very quiet child that never got into any trouble.  She was much smaller than the other children her age were, but she was very smart for her age.  Whenever you would look for Marta, she would be somewhere reading a book or studying.  Often teased for being a nerd, Marta had to overcome being shy and quiet.  Her younger brother would often get into fights sticking up for his older sister. Marta was often called a teacher's pet because she was always helping teachers and adults whenever they needed help.  These efforts caught the attention of her junior high school principal.  Her principal introduced her to a program called Helpers of Others.  This program allowed young people to help older people.  Marta had found her niche.  She was very good at helping others.  After about 3 months in the program, Marta was promoted to a supervisory position.  While in this position, she engineered a program that allowed younger students to help in the program and she instituted a choral group that goes and sings in the nursing homes during Christmas.

Marta enjoys collecting dolls and listening to classical music.
